Green Property Chooses UniMac
Cavallo Point - The Lodge at the Golden Gate went to great lengths to embrace a "green" focus during its 3 1/2 year, $100 million rehabilitation project. And when it came time to equip the laundry, it selected UniMac equipment to mesh with a third party water reuse system, which recycles more than 70 percent of its wash water.
The story of this unique project is chronicled on the front page of the April edition of American Laundry News. Cavallo Point employed a variety of green strategies during rehabilitation of this historic former military installation. Green continues to take center stage as the property, which sits in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge, awaits its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
In the laundry, UniMac's UWTV model washer-extractors, by virtue of their high extract speeds and advanced programming options through the UniLinc control, have delivered the exceptional finished results required at the property. The equipment was installed by Pittsburg, Calif.-based Taylor Houseman.
"We've been able to moderate the laundry's finished quality with the available technology … that's been huge to us," says John Pittman, director of engineering and environmental affairs at Cavallo Point, in the article.
